Bexa is a revolutionary breast cancer screening process that utilizes a unique form of elastography paired with focused breast ultrasound. This process involves applying a light amount (0.125 to 0.25 kg) of pressure to the breast using a small handheld sensor in order to identify suspicious areas of the breast and then using focused handheld ultrasound to specifically identify any abnormalities. It is designed as an assessment of breast health that every woman can have and will find easy and comfortable.

The Bexa exam is suitable for all women of all ages, including:
  • Women who do not go for mammograms (for any reason!)
  • Women with dense breast tissue
  • Women at high risk for breast cancer
  • Women with a family history of breast cancer
  • Women with breast implants
  • Pregnant women
  • Lactating women

The Bexa exam is radiation-free and completely safe! You can undergo the exam as often as you feel necessary. However, we recommend incorporating it into your annual screening routine for optimal breast health monitoring.

There are no side effects associated with the Bexa Breast Exam, as both technologies are non-invasive and do not involve radiation. More than 99% of women report feeling comfortable and at ease throughout the process.

The Bexa exam typically takes between 15 to 30 minutes, from the time the patient undresses to when they are fully dressed again. The duration may vary depending on breast size.

During the exam, you will be guided through the process by a trained female Bexa examiner. The procedure is painless and involves minimal discomfort. You'll receive a clear explanation of what the examiner is doing and seeing during the exam, clear follow-up instructions, and a support contact if you have any questions later.

If the Bexa exam results are negative, you will receive them instantly. If focused ultrasound is performed due to a positive result, the final report will be issued within 24-48 hours after submitting the images to the radiologist. If your studies suggest that you need additional examination we will call you (or text you, your choice) and explain all findings and next steps you need to take.

The Bexa Breast Exam complements the existing screening system and serves as an alternative to clinical breast exams (breast exams with the hands, or “CBE”) which is, generally, all that is available to women who choose to or cannot have a mammogram. Bexa Breast Exams are the only effective and easily accessible option for women under 40. It addresses limitations of mammograms, such as in individuals with dense breasts or for women who should not be exposed to radiation. Please consult your healthcare provider on how to integrate between both methods into your breast health routine.

Yes, the Bexa exam is safe for individuals with breast implants. Our technology is designed to provide accurate results without compromising the integrity of the implants.

Preparation is minimal! We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and avoiding the use of lotions or creams on your breasts prior to the exam. Arrive with any necessary documentation, such as your medical history.
